Suzuki violin, viola and cello in Santa Fe, New Mexico
How do we start? 1. Please take a good look at the other pages of our site. Then call one of us! Margaret can be reached at 231-9241, Rick at 231-9242. Or e-mail Rick. We will be happy to answer your questions and talk to you about violin/viola and your child. 2. We will ask you to come observe a private and/or group lesson, and we will schedule that with you. Our studios are located at 1411 Llano St., next to the Violin Shop of Santa Fe. When you come to observe, we will give you more information, including an enrollment form. If you are still interested, return this form to one of us. The form is also downloadable in Word format: New Student Enrollment Form. It is not a firm commitment, but it indicates that you are interested in proceeding to the next step. It also helps us to schedule your potential private lesson time. We need this form to make sure we can fit you in our schedule. 3. Before we start lessons with your child, parents attend the introductory Suzuki parent sessions. We will contact you regarding the specific date and time of these classes. These sessions are a prerequisite for the rest of our program. 4. Do not worry about obtaining a violin for your child before the parent session starts: we will cover the details of choosing a violin in the parent course. The quality and sizing of the violin is very important to us, and we need to be in on that process. It is best that the child's first contact with the violin be with us. 5. We ask that during the first year of lessons that you have your own violin. We will tell you how to get one. You’ll bring your violin to the individual lesson you will have before your child starts. For your child’s first year of lessons you will continue bringing your violin to the private lessons. Don't worry if you have no previous musical experience! All you need is love! Beginning students (“Pre-Twinklers”) in our program have a weekly 30-minute private lesson AND a weekly 30-minute group lesson. Our Fall 2007 semester will include 16 weeks of instruction and runs August 27- December 21. Fall 2007 beginner tuition is $535. This fee covers all lessons, groups and events for the semester. There is an additional beginner's package fee of $85, which provides ALL of your beginning books, CD's, the "pre-violin" and other beginning materials (except for the violin). Tuition can be divided into as many as four payments. Scholarships are available for students who have been enrolled in our program one year or more.
